Our Story

Your Tiny Town started with a question one Christmas: what if the village under the tree looked like home?

Gregg Zollinger

Gregg is a Franklin, Tennessee resident who turned a Christmas tradition into a craft — and eventually, a small business. Every piece that carries the Your Tiny Town name is still built by his own hands, in his own workshop.

How It Started

From a Christmas Village to the Town Collection

A childhood spent painting tiny things

Long before downtown Franklin showed up in miniature, Gregg was painting Dungeons & Dragons game figures as a kid — adding tiny trees, rocks, and little details to their bases. It was a hobby, not a plan. But the patience it built would matter later.

Christmas 2020: an idea takes shape

When Gregg's wife wanted to buy a Christmas Village for their home, he had a different thought: "wouldn't it be cool if all the buildings in our Christmas Village were these great downtown Franklin buildings?"

The first building

Instead of buying a village, Gregg started building one — piece by piece, using nothing more than Styrofoam, Elmer's glue, and paint. The Franklin Theatre and Gray's on Main were among the first landmarks to come to life on the workbench.

A tradition becomes a collection

What began as one Christmas Village display grew, year after year, into a real, ongoing collection — and eventually, into Your Tiny Town, a way to share the work with the neighbors, friends, and fellow Franklin lovers who kept asking, "can I get one of those?"

What We Believe

Small town, made smaller — with the same amount of heart

Built by Hand, Always

No shortcuts, no outsourcing the craft. If it's an original, Gregg builds it himself.

Rooted in Franklin

Every piece starts with real love for a real place — mostly the one right outside the workshop door.

Made to Be Noticed

The tiny details are the point. Lean in close — that's where the best part usually is.
